13th May – Reopening courts for singles

From Wednesday 13th May, we are opening the Drummond tennis courts for restricted play, in line with the latest LTA guidance.

Until further notice, courts will be available for the following only:
Private, individual lesson/hit with one of the club coaches (please contact Ross or Edwin directly)
Singles with another club member (may be from a different household)
More than 2 players on a court for members of the SAME household only.
Over the next week, Members are requested to advise David (email@drummondltc.co.uk) when they visit the club in order that we can monitor court usage.

Please note that for your safety, the clubhouse remains closed and all outdoor seating has been removed. This means that there will be no floodlight play – but fortunately play is possible without lights until quite late now anyway.

Families including juniors should play on courts 1, 2 and 5 only. Courts 3 and 4 for adult singles only. The coaches will have court priority for their lessons. As good Drummond Members and in line with our club ethos, we know that you will be flexible in choosing a court and your length of stay to ensure that other Members can play safely too!

Please use the nearest gate for entry and exit to your court, and avoid crossing other courts. As a reminder, the correct gates are as follows:
Court 1 – top gate (nearest pavilion)
Courts 2 and 3 – middle gate
Court 4 – middle or bottom gate (depending on which other courts are in use)
Court 5 – bottom gate

Please maintain social distancing (2 metres) and as always, respect other members, at all times. Failure to do so may result in future access to the courts being denied.

As advised by the LTA, please:
Take hand sanitiser with you
Take all your own equipment (do not share equipment such as rackets, grips, hats and towels)
Only take the minimum amount of equipment with you that you need to play
Clean and wipe down your equipment, including racquets and water bottles before and after use
Bring a full water bottle, and do not share food or drink with others
Bring your own tennis balls that are clearly marked (e.g. with your initials)
Ensure you take all your belongings with you at the end of the session and do not leave anything on court
Leave the court promptly on finishing play
