Well done to Drummond’s 12/u boys team as they salvaged their first win of the season in dramatic style against Hutton and Shenfield. After the doubles was tied at 1 rubber each, they fell behind in the singles meaning that they needed to win the last 2 singles matches to score a draw. They did just that, meaning that there was to be a doubles championship tiebreak shootout. Pierre and Jake teamed up and won the shootout 11-9, saving a match point at 8-9 down. A big congratulations to the team playing on the day : Jake, Michael, James, Pierre and Harry, who all battled hard in the heat playing around 4 hours tennis !! The result is Drummond’s first win in 3 years in the AEGON team tennis and Luis’s first as being team captain.
