We welcome you to the Drummond Lawn Tennis Club (DLTC) and hope that you will enjoy your tennis at our friendly Club. To help you to get the most out of our Club, some useful information is listed below. Further information is available on the notice boards inside and outside the Clubhouse, and on our website.
- Security and Entry
Entry into the field and the courts is via gates secured by key operated locks. Keys are available to members upon joining (£15 deposit). If you would like to purchase a key, please speak to Carol Burgess or email the club administrator, Eilís, who can be contacted via email@drummondltc.co.uk. To maintain security at the Club, if you are the last to leave, we ask that you ensure that all gates are locked. - Entry into the Clubhouse
The Clubhouse is usually unlocked during coaching sessions, Club play or other events. - Facilities in the Clubhouse
Within the Clubhouse there are male and female changing rooms with toilets. The First Aid Kit is in the kitchen cupboard under the sink, and there is a defibrillator on the wall adjacent the ladies changing room. Please wash up and put away any cups or crockery you use from the kitchen. - Floodlights
The floodlights are operated by a contactless payment system located on the right side of the door inside the clubhouse. Cost per court is £2.50 per ½ hour. Floodlights will automatically switch off at 9:30pm to adhere to local regulations on light pollution. - Court Availability and Etiquette
Once you have joined there is no cost for playing on the courts and you may play anytime, subject to your membership category and the following restrictions. All courts on Saturday afternoons/early evenings (2pm onwards), Tuesday evenings (7pm onwards) and Sunday mornings (from 10:30am) are reserved for Club social play, and some courts are reserved for Club social play at other times (see Point 7 for details). In addition, all matches, team training and tournaments take priority. (Details of matches and tournaments can be found on the Club notice board or website.) Coaching also takes priority, but usually does not use all the courts.
Access to free courts for Off Peak & Coaching members is restricted to Monday-Friday, before 6pm; Saturdays, before 9am and after 6pm; Sundays, before 9am and after 3pm. Otherwise, all members have equal rights to free courts, regardless of age, category or length of membership.
Please note that Club regulations state that singles’ games may not be played if other members are waiting and wish to play doubles (box leagues and tournament matches are an exception). Players shall retire from the courts after a set or half an hour’s play (except when no other players are sitting out). This is to ensure that all members have a fair chance to play. - Court Care and Tennis Attire
To avoid damaging the courts, always play in non-marking tennis shoes. Club regulations also state that appropriate attire (preferably tennis/sports clothing) including shirts shall be worn on court at all times.
Please do not over-tighten the net (measure sticks indicating correct net height can be found at the side of the courts), and return club balls to the pavilion when you have finished playing. Put good used balls in the Clubhouse and put old balls (if dry) into the large dustbin to be recycled. - Social Play
The main social play for senior members is on Saturday afternoons from 2pm, Sundays from 10:30am and Tuesday evenings from 7pm. In addition, there is social play on Thursday mornings from 9:30am. Also, there is a singles social play on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month from 7:30pm, except during the school summer term. To join in social play, you should be able to serve and sustain a rally, and be prepared to play with everyone at the session. - Coaching
Our coaching team is headed by Edwin (edwinelguedj@gmail.com or 07397 149420), assisted by Ildi (ilditennis2015@gmail.com or 07413 014669), Oli (olioxland@hotmail.com or 07742431468) and Abdul (abdulipin1@hotmail.com or 07775470826). All our coaches are LTA licensed and have LTA and/or PTR qualifications.
We currently run over 30 courses for juniors each term. Our programme primarily runs after school and on Saturday mornings, and covers children aged from 3½ to 18. In addition, we run a number of courses for adults from beginners to more experienced players. Further details are available on our website. We run several social events throughout the year, including BBQs, Family Fun days, and a quiz night. - Website/Database/Communication
We value communication for Drummond members. Information and news are shared by emails and WhatsApp groups. We also produce a newsletter which highlights a variety of Drummond news items. Please also see our website for further information about the Club, details of matches, social events, current news/information and points of contact.
As part of the Lawn Tennis Association, we need to keep records of our members. Members should keep their records up to date by notifying any changes to the Club administrator, Eilís, who can be contacted via email@drummondltc.co.uk. - Visitors
You may invite friends or family to the Club to play for a fee of £5 for seniors or £2 for juniors per visit. However, this is limited to 6 visits per year for any individual, otherwise they need to join the Club as full paying members. You should register and pay for your guest using the QR code displayed on the noticeboards. - Matches
If you are a full senior member and interested in joining one or more of our teams for match play, in the first instance please speak to the Match Secretary, Paul Mussett, or email the club administrator. We also run teams for junior members, and selection is based on commitment, attitude and playing ability, please contact our coaching team if you are interested. - Tournaments and Box Leagues
During the summer months, the Club runs tournaments for its own members. Details of these are circulated at the start of the year. Box leagues are run for members at other times of the year (please contact Rob Petrucco for details). - Current Committee

The club will not take or publish photos of Juniors. We ask that parents and carers do not take photos of any children participating in Drummond activities unless they are those in their care and that they are not shared on social media. - ClubSpark

To use it, you’ll need to log in with an LTA account, which is free to register for if you don’t already have one. Once you’re set up, you’ll be able to book onto coaching sessions and courses, sign up for club events and tournaments, and view or renew your membership online.
